Grown Ups

TOP 100

For my Top 100 Movie Review, I watched Grown Ups, the first one. I saw it on the top list of Adam Sandler movies. I respect and love Adam Sandler I think he someone a lot of people should look up to. He started with barely anything, grew his own production company, he comes up with all his movies and ideas, and he acts in every one of his movies. The movie is about five friends that grew up in a small town playing basketball together best friends that grew up together and has the grow up things happen and their basketball coach passed away and they all meet up for the funeral and they all see each other again in their home town and they spend the week at the lake house that was so special for them and their coach. Grown Ups is such a classic movie for first-time watchers, it’s so relatable and pure humor in them is priceless. I enjoy all the small jokes and the lies and how Sandler creates the ideas of what the movie was going to be about. The first scene starting off with Basketball little kids getting to know the main characters before they “grow up” each one tells a little about the character and foreshadowing for each character. The shot its self is in a filled gym of parents and cheering, yelling, and energy. The lighting the best way to describe it was brown and orange it was a slight change to give the vibe that it was the olden days for the kids before they have all grown up and have gone separate ways. Their so many things in this movie to talk about that are just really interesting to talk about, but overall what I notice about this movie different from all the other movies that I watch is the way it filmed and how the actors are. In a lot of Adam Sandler movies a lot of time, he shoots movies with his buddies, him doing that there's a whole different vibe to the movie and the viewers feel that and it becomes a better movie. Toward the end of movie there's conflict the conflict was lying to the people around them starts off with all the guys playing shoots and ladders and Marcus Higgens comes over (he's a character is the old guys who mess around all the time) says he might have done something to Rob Hillard daughter so everyone is yelling like “what the hell,” the way it’s shot is mad, but not mad in the way that you love the people you are with that you can’t be mad. There on the deck sunny summer day, everyone comes outside the huge deck with the setting and the mountains and water in the background. Seeing everyone fight and realize that there is no need and they all become together again. This movie is really great I love the way it is filmed and the actors are so important in this film because it truly looks like that they are all friends and I think that's my favorite part about this movie.
